Braised Bone-In Short Ribs with Red Wine

Ingredients: 

  • HHF 2 lbs bone-in beef short ribs 
  • 2 cups red wine 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 3 carrots, chopped 
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste 
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced 
  • 2 cups beef broth 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions: 

  • Season short ribs with salt and pepper. 
  • Sear short ribs in olive oil on all sides in a Dutch oven. 
  • Remove ribs and sauté onions, carrots, and garlic. 
  • Add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Pour in wine and reduce by half. 
  • Add beef broth, return ribs to the pot, and cover. Simmer on low for 3 hours. 
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or polenta.
