Rainbow Raccoon Ranch
Love of farming and ranching
Jonathan and Stephanie and new son, Henry
Jonathan and Stephanie are the proud owners and operators of Rainbow Raccoon Ranch, a small family farm nestled on the banks of the Raccoon River, just a stone's throw away from the iconic Rainbow Bridge, south of Lake City, Iowa. They bought their first Scottish Highland in 2020, and their love for them has only grown since.
The Highland breed of cattle has lived for centuries in the rugged remote Scottish Highlands. The extremely harsh conditions created a process of natural selection, where only the fittest and most adaptable animals survived to carry on the breed.
Highlands are very docile, easy to handle and halter train, and are easy keepers. Their beef is lower in cholesterol and fat, but higher in protein to all other breeds of cattle.
